See What's Out There

Hi there everyone,

I have always loved looking at other artists' work and I am constantly searching for people who inspire me to try harder, create more or to improve my craft.  I have not been able to find a better website to aid in this than IllustrationWeb.  It's a directory of working designers, each with a high resolution portfolio images and bio.  They have categorized them so you can find the specific style you like and I have found some wonderful work here. My favourite part of this, is that many of them like to write about their chosen medium. I think this is great because I always want to know how someone got their result and I've added several tools to my arsenal because of it.
I found a wonderful fashion illustrator named Bec Winnel, and added chalk pastels to my list of preferred tools. I really admire the way she has merged traditional portraiture with something that is marketable today.
I also think it's important to see what's out there not only to learn from them, but to make sure you aren't spending your time creating things someone else already does. Especially since our success in this industry relies heavily on being able to stand out from the crowd!
So anyways, check it out and I hope that it puts a creative fire under you to produce work that you can be very proud of!
